Sinulog Festival is a major event in the City of Cebu that promotes not only its rich cultural heritage but as well as the traditions of other cities in the country through its annual Sinulog Mardi-gras. Performances, including representations from other festivals out of Cebu City, showcased artistically, trough street dancing, the rich culture of Filipinos in general.

To close the 1st quarter storm, the chapter hosted a family day to gather JCI-Cebu members, Jayceerettes (spouses) and children for a whole day fellowship under the sun at Tubod Flowing Waters Spring Resort in Minglanilla, Cebu last March 30, 2008.
Valuing the importance of the roles of women in the society, and in celebration of Women’s Month, JCI-Cebu hosted a project billed as “Women Empowerment Today” in Barangay Budlaan last March 15, 2008 with around 150 women participants.
The activity is composed of 2 major segments: A Clean-up Drive with the women’s group lead by their Barangay Captain Hon.
For 10 years, it has been part of JCI-CEBU’s tradition to spend a day with the children of St. Mary’s of Euphrasia every December, February and June, every year. And believing in the value and significance of this initiative, we continue with the practice and paid visits to the orphanage center recently.

The tale of Cebu Jaycees begins in June 1948, six months after the birth of the Manila chapter in December 1947. The seed that was planted on that fateful day stablished what was to become the second oldest JCI organization in the entire Asia-Pacific region.
Hawaii-based Jaycees Robert Trent was introduced to Cebu's young professionals by John D. Simmons, the American manager of the Philippines Refining Company in Cebu. The rest, they say, is history.
These young men, who became the Charter members of Cebu Jaycees, set a president in in the composition of the group, which has always been a democratic mix of professionals, businessman, contractors, doctors and with a sprinkling of foreigners: Fulvio Pelaez (Charter President), John D. Simmons (First VP for Internal Affairs), Tony Lim Tong, Thakurdas Muhkey, Greg Segura, augusto Santos, Blen Cruz, Marcelo Hubahib, Tony Taylor, Eulogio Barres, Eduardo Fructuoso and Eduardo Miranda. These ullustrious names are forever engraved not just in our memory, but in history, as well.
