Summary
Healthcare Initiative & Kids Empowerment (H.I.K.E) Ta Bai! is JCI Cebu’s multi-faceted Public Health Year-long program that focuses on addressing the (1) Deteriorating Public Dental Healthcare (2) Underrated Mental Health Dilemma, (3) Worsening Malnutrition and Undernutrition Rates and (4) Lack of access to Clean Water & Sanitation Facilities in the far-flung communities in Cebu through:
- Education. Evaluating the Dental Healthcare needs of the community through Education and Check-ups.
- Engagement. Engaging the Community as Part of the Solution of our Mental Healthcare Dilemma.
- Extension. Extending our call to End Hunger through feeding programs throughout Cebu.
- Engravement. Immortalizing the efforts to improve the lack of access to water and sanitation facilities.
The program generated at least Php 591,600 – worth of Public Health Development Fund on top of operational costs and voluntary services that served at least 1,493 families across 9 deprived and often forgotten communities in the province.
