H.I.K.E. Ta Bai! 2.0: Mind, Body and Soul
Healthcare Initiative & Kids Empowerment (H.I.K.E. Ta Bai!) 2.0 is JCI Cebu’s year-long multi-faceted public health program that focuses on the holistic well-being of the marginalized children in Cebu. Through MIND, BODY and SOUL approach, it addresses the critical healthcare needs with inclusive health programs and interventions for the (1) increasing rate of malnutrition after the COVID19 pandemic, (2) deteriorating public dental care and hygiene practices, (3) underrated mental health dilemma, (4) lack of access to clean and safe water, and (5) insufficient shelter and protection in one of the most vulnerable groups in the community through:
- Education. Evaluating the nutritional, hygienal, and dental healthcare needs through education, check-ups, and public health awareness;
- Engagement. Engaging in community sports and spiritual activities to boost their social and mental well-being;
- Equipment. Providing free vaccination and supplying water filtration technologies;
- Empowerment. Enlightening the parents and guardians of the fundamental rights of every child to give them a safe and loving environment.
