JCI Cebu assists rehabilitation of public schools devastated by typhoon Odette in the province of Sibonga in anticipation of gradual reopening of face-to-face classes and graduation.
The Bangon Tunghaan Project initiated by JCI Cebu BIGA Aspirants successfully turned over a total of Php 94,000 worth of construction materials for the rehabilitation of Teodoro dela Vega Memorial National High School last May 21, 2022, and of Papan Elementary School last June 11, 2022.
Said rehabilitation project was designed after the two public schools were greatly affected by the landfall of typhoon Odette last December 2021, damaging their classrooms, offices and stage.
“This project gives hope to our students as we welcome them back even after typhoon Odette”, says school principal Mrs. Mary Grace Carvajal during the turnover ceremony.
Initiators of the project tied up to generous benefactors and sponsors, thanks to Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu, Creative Space Studio by AHS Photography, Jotun, JCI Cebu Board of Directors, Mr. Limuel Gripo, and Mr. Jerome Antopina, among others.
