skillABLE: Empowering Persons with Disabilities with Innovative Instructional Materials and Exposure
In May 2025, JCI Cebu redefined a traditional golf tournament into a powerful platform for inclusion, dignity, and change. Hosted at Alta Vista Golf and Country Club, the event raised ₱83,213 in net income, but its true achievement was empowering persons with disabilities (PWDs) from DSWD AVRC II. More than 100 PWD beneficiaries took center stage, offering massage and nail care services, selling food, and performing live music—proving that given the opportunity, they can fully and meaningfully participate in society. The project culminated with the donation of two Smart TVs to support inclusive, digital education at AVRC, directly improving the learning experience for dozens of current and future trainees. Backed by over 20 corporate sponsors and a growing network of advocates, skillABLE showcased JCI Cebu’s unwavering commitment to service, leadership, and sustainable impact, turning a single day of golf into a lasting statement of empowerment and equality for all.
