JCI Cebu, in partnership with the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. (RAFI), conducted an initial community immersion on August 16, 2025, across three barangays in Alcantara, Cebu. Rather than immediately implementing projects, the initiative focused on listening to the experiences, challenges, and aspirations of local leaders, residents, and community health workers.

Led by JCI Cebu’s Community Development Team, the immersion explored key community concerns, including urban farming, animal welfare, mental health, and sustainable livelihood opportunities. The activity emphasized the organization’s commitment to understanding community needs before designing programs, ensuring that future initiatives are responsive, relevant, and community-driven.

The insights gathered during the immersion will serve as the foundation for future collaborative projects between JCI Cebu and RAFI. By prioritizing meaningful engagement and partnership, the organizations reaffirm their shared commitment to creating sustainable solutions that empower communities and generate lasting positive impact throughout Alcantara and beyond.
