JCI Cebu successfully conducted Oplan Kaagapay: Bantay Apoy on March 20, 2026, at the Sitio Abellana Sports Complex in Barangay Luz, empowering volunteers and community stakeholders with practical firefighting and emergency response skills. The initiative supports the country’s shift from disaster relief to disaster preparedness by equipping participants with the knowledge and confidence needed to respond effectively during emergencies.
Led by Project Chair Nel Luceno, the program brought together government agencies, civic organizations, and JCI chapters from across the Philippines to strengthen collaboration and build a network of trained community responders. Through hands-on demonstrations and emergency preparedness sessions, participants reinforced the importance of readiness, discipline, and coordinated action in protecting lives and communities.
JCI Cebu extends its sincere appreciation to its partners, co-hosts, participating JCI chapters, volunteers, and public safety agencies whose collective efforts made the initiative a success. Together, they continue to advance a culture of preparedness and resilience while creating safer, stronger, and more empowered communities.
