JCI Cebu officially opened JCI Week 2026 with a vibrant celebration of Cebuano creativity and culture at Izakaya Garden, SM J Mall, on April 19, 2026. Headlined by the chapter’s flagship cultural initiative, Baslayon, the event showcased the richness of local artistry while reinforcing JCI Cebu’s commitment to preserving Cebuano heritage and empowering homegrown talent.
The evening featured outstanding performances by Miks PX, AKN, Kimberly, LEEYAN, XinB, and the Jacob’s Ladder Buskers, hosted by Steff Barredo (DJ Mia). Guests also explored curated booths from Inyo Collective, Mamista Ta, and Walk with Pride, highlighting Cebuano entrepreneurship, creativity, and advocacy.
A major highlight of the evening was the announcement of a collaboration between JCI Cebu and SM J Mall, providing regular busking opportunities for local performers under the JCI RISE framework. The event also featured the ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Commitment on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI), and Non-Discrimination, reaffirming JCI Cebu’s commitment to fostering inclusive communities where culture, opportunity, and leadership thrive together.
