Another milestone has been set again by JCI Cebu Inc. as it organized the 1st Jaycees Cup, a golf for a cause tournament last June 17, 2022 at the iconic Cebu Country Club.
The fundraising event was opened for members and non-members for the benefit of the Cebu PWD community and Philippine Accessible Disability Services (PADS).
The event, which holds the record of being the first golf tournament produced by any JCI chapter in Cebu Island, attracted golf players from various sectors including Real Estate, medical field, business sectors and the corporate world.
This is one of JCI Cebu’s offerings in its 74th founding anniversary week and is led by its Business Development Bureau.
“We have been getting clamor from our Senators, Past Presidents and other members who are golf enthusiast that it was a high time for us to hold a tournament. And it was coincidental as well since we just had a consultation with PADs and our PWD community on their situation and how JCI can come in to help them. So everything was really in great timing.” JCI Cebu Vice President for Business Development Kyle Aznar said during the event.
The PWD community representative, Mr. Felipe Jojo Pimentel, Jr. also attended the awarding ceremony and expressed his gratitude to the organizational’s support and its continuous partnership with them to make the lives of our PWD here in Cebu better.
JCI Cebu 2022 President Jacques Estola also echoed the theme in the event during his opening speech in the program, that JCI is committed to raise awareness and further the rights of anyone who felt not treated fairly due to their physical disability.
The tournament followed the best ball format and held two categories; scramble and best ball score. The pair of Mr. Lloyd Muntuerto and Mr. Vincent Osmena emerged as the overall winner.
The tournament was co-presented by BMW and supported by over 10 major and minor sponsors.
