San Jose, Antique – Leadership excellence took center stage as two renowned trainers from JCI Cebu were invited to speak at the inaugural IGNITE: Leaders Boot Camp, organized by JCI Antique Kruhay. Held on January 3, 2025, at the historic Old Provincial Capitol in San Jose, Antique, the event gathered 12 expert trainers from across five areas of the Philippines to equip young leaders with the skills to lead with passion and purpose.
Mark Anthony Abellana, who is also currently the Deputy National Skills Development Director, delivered an inspiring session on JCI Discover, providing attendees with a deeper understanding of themselves and their leadership potential. Meanwhile, Senator Jacques Estola captivated the audience with his insightful discussion on JCI History, Footprints, and International Affairs, emphasizing JCI’s legacy and its far-reaching global impact.
“IGNITE was more than a boot camp; it was a call to action for young leaders in Antique to ignite progress, drive change, and leave a meaningful legacy,” shared Fernan Salibongcogon, the sole participant representing JCI Cebu. The carefully curated sessions covered various topics, including project management, effective leadership, social responsibility, and networking, all designed to empower participants to become better leaders in their respective organizations and communities.
In addition to the boot camp, delegations from JCI Cebu also participated in “The Friendship Project,” a post-camp adventure held from January 4 to 5, 2025, in Tibiao, Antique. This unique initiative combined leadership networking with thrilling activities, such as extreme water tubing, hiking to the picturesque Bugtong Bato Falls, and relaxing in the iconic kawa hot baths.
As JCI Philippines continues to champion its mission of inspiring young leaders, events like IGNITE demonstrate its commitment to fostering bold and unstoppable leadership. The participation of esteemed trainers like Mark Anthony Abellana and Jacques Estola highlights JCI Cebu’s dedication to excellence and its pivotal role in shaping the next generation of transformative leaders.
