On May 30, 2026, JCI Cebu officially launched Project ALAMAT at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Danao City Male Dormitory, introducing a rehabilitation-centered initiative that promotes dignity, healing, and hope for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs). Spearheaded by Project Director Matt Erikson Cao Malagar and Co-Project Chairman Martin Manalili, the program serves as JCI Cebu’s local contribution to the #BeyondPrisonWalls advocacy.

Moving beyond traditional outreach, Project ALAMAT focuses on creating a sustainable and replicable model for correctional support through meaningful partnerships, structured activities, and rehabilitation-oriented programming. The initiative emphasizes that genuine transformation is achieved by balancing accountability with compassion, psychosocial support, and opportunities for personal growth.

The launch marked the beginning of a long-term commitment to restorative community engagement, fostering positive interactions and holistic healing within correctional facilities. Through Project ALAMAT, JCI Cebu continues to demonstrate that meaningful collaboration can inspire second chances, restore hope, and empower individuals to build a better future beyond prison walls.
