JCI Cebu successfully concluded Hydrate Cebu on March 8, 2026, by turning over a Community Water Purification System to Sitio Barucan, Barangay Lugo, Borbon, providing 30 households with sustainable access to safe and free drinking water. The initiative reflects the organization’s commitment to improving community health while advancing long-term solutions for water security.
Beyond the installation of the purification system, the project delivered a range of community services, including free medical consultations, disaster preparedness and basic first aid training for local women, and engaging recovery activities for children. These efforts emphasized a holistic approach to community development by addressing health, resilience, and well-being alongside access to clean water.
Led by Project Chair Jay Emanuel Alegarbes, the initiative was made possible through the collaboration of volunteer medical professionals, researchers from Cebu Technological University, the ROTC, dedicated JCI Cebu members, and community partners. Through Hydrate Cebu, JCI Cebu continues to empower communities by creating sustainable solutions that promote healthier, safer, and more resilient futures.
