JCI Cebu successfully conducted the Project BERDE Beneficiary Training on October 25, 2025, at Everlasting Hope, empowering the parents and guardians of children undergoing cancer treatment with practical hydroponics farming skills. The initiative aims to provide families with sustainable livelihood opportunities while promoting food security and long-term self-sufficiency.

Through hands-on training, participants learned the fundamentals of hydroponic farming, enabling them to cultivate healthy produce that can support both household nutrition and future income generation. The project directly benefits 30 children with cancer and their families, providing opportunities that extend beyond immediate assistance toward lasting community empowerment.

Implemented in partnership with the Pink Box Project led by Atty. Jan Patindol, the initiative was made possible through the dedication of Vice President Jay Emanuel Alegarbes, DNSDD Mark Anthony Abellana, Bro. AJay Jimenez, volunteers, and community partners. Project BERDE continues to demonstrate JCI Cebu’s commitment to sustainable development by transforming compassion into meaningful opportunities that improve lives and strengthen communities.
